Why Your Business Will Need Data Recovery One Day

By Jeff De Cleff

As boss, I was shocked (although I was not altogether surprised) to come across a couple sobering stats latterly.

The 1st said that 94 p.c of corporations suffering from a devastating data loss do not survive - 43 p.c never reopen and 51 percent close inside two years. The second figure echoed this, asserting that 7 out of 10 small firms that experience a major info loss go out of business within a year.

I imagined what would occur if my very own company experienced giant information loss. How would that have an effect on our customers? What of our staff?

And the simple question "Would we be well placed to survive? Simply thinking about all of the potential losses was adequate to put me in panic mode "there were my customer contacts, sales and shipping records, financial figures, human resources info, business manuals, service agreements.

And that was just the top of the iceberg. I began to realize that if my very own business somehow lost all this vital info, we could easily finish up being another bad statistic.

That's when I realised that instead of brooding about all the possible effects or asking these hypothetical questions, I wished to do something.

I approached a technical information company to learn more about shielding my organisation from the worst possible case scenario.

They started to work straight away, drafting an all-encompassing data recovery plan which ensured my company's vital data was backed up and available at every point. I was impressed by the rate in which they succeeded to assess and manage my current situation. After all , time is essential when it comes to protecting your business. The faster my business was backed up, the better.

As it has been 3 years since we've implemented these safety features. I'm hoping that the "worst case scenario" never comes to fruition, and that my company won't have to totally implement the data recovery plan set out for us.

However , as a business owner I can rest a little bit simpler knowing that if something does go screwy, I am still protected. I, along with all of my dedicated staff, have worked too hard for too many years to see the business fail due to a technical problem.

If you are a business owner and you're not guarded by a kind of information recovery plan, I'd strongly recommend you get one today.

I will not stress the significance it is to insure your critical - and often irreplaceable - info.

The life of your company could hinge upon it.
