Tips on How to Care for Your Laptop computer

By Jason Sloan

Here are 15 simple recommendations from the professionals and experienced users on how best to take care of your laptop, as prevention is usually better than cure. Your portable computer looks after such a lot of things in your life, attempt to take care of your portable computer, too and prevent having to have a laptop hard drive recovery.

Keep foods away. It is not the food per se that would harm your laptop. It's the fact that particles of food attract bugs that may harm your laptop's internal circuitry.

Keep liquids away. As enticing as a huge mug of java could be to keep beside your working mate, NEVER do so. A clumsy spill or an equally slovenly office colleague's bump, may spill that coffee over your portable laptop and cause internal damage and electric injury.

Don't eat while you work on your laptop PC and do not work on your portable while you eat. Your fingers will get covered with crumbs which may unavoidably point you to the same condition as in points 1 and 2.

Have clean hands before laying them on your laptop computer. Sweat and dirt on your fingertips will accelerate the wear-and-tear of your keypad coating. Some even advise rubbing your hands with alcohol to remove sweat, grease and grime.

Use a keypad protector. This is that soft, rubberized transparent sheet that you can cover over your keypad. This will eliminate the necessity to wash hands before working.

Hold and lift your portable laptop by its base and never by its screen. The simple reason is to protect the hinges.

Insert drives and accessories into their correct slots, meticulously and at their proper angles.

Avoid temperature fluctuations (intense hots and colds) which could cause condensation of air within the laptop.

Wait 15 minutes till the laptop PC reaches room temperature before powering up this'll help deal with point 8.

Have it cleaned by a professional one or more times a year to get rid of dust which might clog the vent and cause overheating.

Keep your portable computer cool. Use in a well-ventilated area. Use additional coolers with fans to cool down the motherboard.

Clean round the exhaust fan screen. Little need for fancy cleaning items here. An old toothbrush is fine.

Never use your portable laptop on the bed. The fan will suck in the dust and may shortly be adequately plugged up and cause overheating.

Use the laptop computer on a smooth surface. If you need to work outside, bring a laptop computer table.

Frequently update both of your antivirus software and O. S (e.g. Windows Update). Doing all of the above will be in vain if your portable laptop gets infected with a virus or Trojan.
