How to Tell if A Video Company Can Help You

By Janice Dylan

The only measure of a great video company is their work. The quality of a video company will be obvious in their work. Some might say that judging a company by experience is the way to go but this is not necessarily so when it comes to video.

Ask others who have used video companies whom they recommend, see if these companies can meet your needs and then ask to see a portfolio. Someone who has been in the business 20 years may still not be able to accommodate what you are looking for whereas the guy who graduated last year may get it exactly right. Shop around, look at videos you like and find out who made them.

Remember, there are lots of different types of video makers. Some will specialise in wedding and occasions, others will make in house training videos and others will do it all.

Be sure you are very specific with regards to your needs when you go to tender and ensure there are samples of work which are as akin to your requirements as possible. There is no way, if you use video for SEO purposes that the guy who only makes loved-one's birthday collages will understand what you actually need, unless he is able to prove otherwise with examples of SEO work.

You should not trust someone if they say, I can get it done, but does not provide samples of their work. Firms, which are interested in branching out and have the ability and skills to actually do so will take the time to make small sample videos. These sample videos can be created to show people exactly what they are capable of achieving. In other words to showcase their skills.

Making enquiries to local video companies is an excellent strategy to determine what is available close to you, but nothing beats a recommendation. So, use the internet and have a quick glance your competition. Maybe they are using video companies that could be beneficial to you.

Also, look on the major video search engines like Goggle and find out if similar videos can be bought. Contacting people who made those videos may lead to an excellent business connection.
